Cargo pants are the 90’s throwback trend that is taking over street style. But I’ll be honest, it wasn’t until recently that I’ve started picturing them more on Gigi Hadid than a construction worker. For the past few years, cargo pants have conjured up images of 90’s movies and my little brother’s wardrobe – not the cool-girl style I equate them with today. 

But the times (and trends) are changing – cargo pants and utility pants are my favorite fall fashion statements. They aren’t like many of the pants I’ve worn before, so styling them has taken a bit of trial and error. In my experience, you can style them how you would a straight or wide-leg jean. I love the look of pairing the wider pant with a fitted top, like a corset top or high-neck crop top. I also love the relaxed look of a graphic tee or sweatshirt, slightly tucked in or folded under. As far as accessories go, a sling bag and cargos are a match made in heaven. My favorite shoe choices are booties, fashion sneakers, Chelsea boots, and combat-style boots.
